What To Do If You Need Money Right Now?

I often get asked when people know that I blog on side from my main job and I make a little money, that how they too can start making money right away. Some are looking for easy money, while others are in real genuine need as they might have lost a job and need money to survive.

I have been there when I almost lost my job, I was lucky enough to find a job within my company, I was worried about my family and a child to care for if I lost a job. So, I hear you and I understand how you feel.

Is blogging or making money online is right for me?

If you need money by tomorrow or in next week, blogging or creating a website is not a right solution for anyone. Why? Because I have been blogging for over 2 years and I finally learned how to make a little money but not enough to quit my job. While I agree some people can money from blogging in a few months, if you need instant money starting a blog may not be the right idea.

So, what can I do to make Money Now?

If you need money soon because of health reasons, medical bills, emergency situation such as losing a job or getting in an accident, you can get some money by following this tips;

  1. First of all, cancel all cable, newspaper, magazine and other monthly plans you can do without. It will not make you money but it will save you paying extra. Right now, we can use all the help we can.
  2. Sell household items to make some cash. You can sell furniture, phones and other valuables.
  3. Sell your car, specially if you have 2 or more car per household and you can share a car for awhile. If you do decide to sell a car, make sure to cancel car insurance on that car to make one less bill pay.
  4. Negotiate payment plans with creditors such as Hospitpal, doctor’s office and even credit card company, so you will not have to pay hefty interest fees later.
  5. If you are renting, go for smaller rental place to save rental fees or get a roommate.
  6. If you own a home, you can rent out a bedroom to get money. Always make sure and check background of person before renting it to anyone. I say, spending $25 for background check is worth lot more then paying for it later in headaches and crazy person who has your house keys now.
  7. Do some services to make money such as mowing a lawn for someone, giving rides, fixing a computer, freelance writing, cooking a meal for busy people or whatever your expertise might be. You may not make thousands but it will keep you afloat.
  8. Ask and borrow money from friends and family members, until situation improves.
  9. Eat or cook at home to save money on take outs, or restaurants bills.
  10. Last resort might be to take out of your 401K or IRA. You will hit 10% penalty plus taxes but it will save from filing bankruptcy.

Remember, however bleak the situation might be, it will get better. Just hang in there. You can still start a blog on side but do not expect to replace your income in week time.
